Niche fashion goes under the Gavel

Essel Group is eyeing international fashion retailing in a big way. It will soon be introducing Pal Zileri upmarket apparel for Indian men via 100% subsidiary Gavel Fashions. This will lead the 20-plus niche and highly aspirational brands that Gavel will be rolling in here over the next few years, from around the world.
Kick-starting its retail venture, Gavel Fashions has entered into an exclusive agreement with Italy’s leading menswear brand, Pal Zileri to launch its exclusive, mono-brand showroom offering a range of Pal Zileri products in the country. The first exclusive store was launched at Hotel Intercontinental in New Delhi recently.
Expanding Pal Zileri in India, Gavel will invest close to Rs 10 crore in the Indian market. The premium Italian men’s wear brand promises the bon ton — the concept of Su Misura (made-to-measure) and ready to wear Italian suits in all its infinite variety.
Speaking about their association with the Italian men’s wear brand. Gagan Goel, chief executive officer, Gavel Fashions said: “Our tie-up with Pal Zileri is the first step towards offering India high-end niche apparel from across the globe. We will be unveiling the winter collection of Pal Zileri in India at our store in New Delhi which will be followed by the launch of the summer collection early next year in Mumbai.”
Pal Zileri, with a turnover of 110 million lira, operates out of Quinnto Vicentino, in Northeast Italy, and is a popular label in over 70 nations. The fashion brand is currently being retailed through 150 Pal Zileri shops around the world including London, Dubai, Moscow, Milan etc. All the suits by Pal Zileri across the world are customised as per individual specifications in Italy.
